Earth Hour 2009, Chicago / by Alice Zhao

Jared and I decided to partake in Earth Hour this year, though we probably didn't do as good of a job of following it to a T.  Our original plan was to bike to the Shedd Aquarium and get a great panning shot of the Chicago skyline.  We checked the weather forecast a week earlier and found out it would be pretty chilly.  So then decided to just walk around the neighborhood with our dog, Chef.  And then a few days before, we checked the weather forecast again and it turns out it was  going to be freezing cold and raining!  Blah.  So tonight we ended up driving to a parking garage and found a spot that somewhat shielded us from the rain but still had a somewhat decent shot of Chicago from the southwest side.  It was still pretty darn cold, rainy, windy and foggy, too! This is the best we could do!

I was a little disappointed by Chicago, as per usual.  We're just not as green as I'd like us to be.  The IOC is going to be here in a few days, can't we even *try* to look like we care?
