Jared and I have been planning and highly anticipating our summer garden for quite some time now. We decided to look for a planter a couple weeks ago. Our style is a bit more modern so we were looking for something long and low, with clean lines. We finally saw many items we liked at Jayson Home and Garden, but taking a look at the price tag gave us major sticker shock. $85 for a single plain wood planter?! Jared, the good ol' DIY husband that he is, said in disdain "I could make this myself for a lot cheaper... wait, can your dad help us?". hehe
So, with the help of Mrs. Eat a Duck I Must's papa, we purchased some wood planks and got crackin' on the planters. At the end of the day, we spent less than $30 dollars and built 4 perfectly awesome planters. (Thanks, Dad!)

Then, we started the garden out by planting our old green onions we've been keeping in our kitchen. We promise to report back with more photos when we've fully filled up our garden. :)
