Something to do with Imitation and Flattery... / by Alice Zhao

When we can't make it to Jared's aunt's house for her typical dinner feast, Jared tries to recreate some of it at home.  Here is his version of a couple of those dishes.

Pan fried pork ribs

Ingredients
1lb pork spare ribs
1 red/green/yellow peppers
1 medium onion
1 bunch green onion
Tsuyu (Japanese seasoned soy sauce)
Mirin
Sesame seeds

  • Slice the peppers, onion and cut the green onions
  • If the spare ribs are not cut, slice it along the rib into individual pieces
  • Heat pan with 1 tsb of oil on medium high heat
  • Sear the ribs until golden brown
  • Turn the heat to high and add the vegetables
  • Stir fry for a few minutes
  • Add 1tsb of mirin and tsuyu to taste
  • Finish with some sesame seeds
