We left early Friday morning to hop on a plane to Sacramento. We didn't think it was possible but we were kind of ready to eat non Asian food. (Blasphemous, I know!) But this was the day. THE DAY! THE DAY WE'D DINE AT FRENCH LAUNDRY!!!!!!
Jared's sister picked us up from the airport, dropped off our stuff at her place and headed straight for Napa. Wow, Napa is spectacularly beautiful. Everywhere we went, it was breathtaking. I kept saying to myself, "What a gorgeous day it is today". And then I realized, it's like this ... every day... all year round. Jared, can we move here?
Anyway, back to the story. Our first stop was lunch at Bistro Jeanty. Jared's sister had graciously made reservations for us there as her birthday gift to Jared. I think this must have been the first time I've had true bistro fare. Well, no, I'm sure I've had it before, but here everything was kind of... awesome. I tried to eat light to save room for our 5:30 reservations at French Laundry, but um yeah... I sort of just ate every crumb. Oops.
